“Art helps us see connections and brings a more coherent meaning to our world.” – Ernest L. Boyer, President of the Carnegie Foundation.

Cally de Klerk is a proud parent of a child attending the National School of the Arts (NSA) in Braamfontein. She sent a request to Hot Cares for assistance. Cally explained that many learners at the school come from low income households, and being a public school the NSA won’t require those learners to pay school fees – therefore funding is a consistent struggle.

Their Art Department is in dire need of essentials. And while parents who can afford the school fees (of which there aren’t very many) try to help out as best they can in this regard, there is a considerable shortfall.

The children who attend this school are the very best in their disciplines and the NSA ranks in the Top 20 public schools in Gauteng, so it is imperative they have the resources and opportunity to develop themselves.

To assist the Arts Department, Hot Cares will purchase and donate tools and machines, paints and paintbrushes, paper and other art materials to the value of
R15 000!
