Ursula Gets Rehabilitation Assistance
“Things turn out best for the people who make the best out of the way things turn out.” – Art Linkletter.
Ursula is Karens daughter. Last year, Ursula, was a healthy young lady of 30 who was married working and independent and everything changed when she suffered a stroke.
Ursula’s stroke in August has affected her brain, and recently she suffered further damage in a Lobe Epileptic seizure three weeks ago leaving her right side swollen, with pins and needles and compromising her vision out her left eye. Her memory and speech have also been affected, and she battles to speak clearly and put her thoughts into words.
Even through this problematic set of circumstances, Karen Barends and her husband have remained positive and do everything they can for their daughter.
To aid her recuperation, Ursula requires specific therapy only available at Headway Gauteng, a centre that specialises in rehabilitative therapies for head injuries. For Karen and her husband, the cost is prohibitive, but without it, Ursula will continue to be reliant on them.
Hot Cares would like to assist the Barend family by covering the annual therapy fee at Headway, as well as purchasing toiletries and clothing for Ursula for a total value of R15 000.
