The Hot91.9FM Radio Training Academy
At Hot 91.9fm we believe that success isn’t just about what you accomplish in your own life but what you inspire others to do in theirs. The Hot 91.9fm team and their partners have an immense amount of talent from all different areas within radio and added together these individual expertise is a powerful gift that deserves to be shared.
The first Hot 91.9fm Radio Training Academy course was held in 2015. Since it’s inception, the academy has welcomed over 125 students. During the first year talent was identified in a few students, three of whom went on to other stations and two who have now become part time presenters on Hot 91.9fm, namely Ryan Flynn and Adrian Naidoo. The 2017 course opened the door for Bunny Majaja who was quickly recognised for her wonderful humour and on air ability. After 10 months of the training, Bunny had proven she was ready for her debut and was given a week day contract with Hot 91.9fm.
The course is open to the public and is free of charge to anyone who has the passion for the radio broadcasting industry and the dedication to complete the course. The course comprises of 12 weeks of theory sessions which are held on Saturday mornings, followed by 5 practical sessions.
