Hot 91.9FM and Sandown Motors Ready To Hit The Road!

Tuesday, 19 March 2019 – Wednesday, 6 March saw Hot 91.9FM and Sandown Motors Mercedes Benz celebrate their brand new partnership on-air and on the road with the official vehicle handover of three Mercedes Benz vehicles to the Hot 91.9FM Mansfield In The Morning team of Jeremy Mansfield, Samantha Cowen and John Walland.

Before the official handover of the keys, Alex Boavida, Sandown Motors Sandton Dealer Principal, took the group on a tour of the eloquent new 92 on Rivonia building. This retail space is the first of its kind focusing on the customer experience

Sandown Motors is very excited about this partnership because they believe in the exciting ethos and culture of Hot 91.9FM. Both parties look forward to bringing the elements of fun on the radio and fun on the road together to create innovative and interactive campaigns for both brands to leverage off.

CEO of Sandown Motors, Roy McAllister said, “We are delighted to enter into this partnership with Hot 91.9FM and Mansfield in the Morning. We see it as being mutually beneficial and the association between the brands can only bear fruit especially as we are being represented in the market that Hot 91.9FM has its footprint”.

Host Jeremy Mansfield enthused, “It is really great to have a premium brand like Sandown Motors on board with Hot 91.9FM. There are things we believe that we can bring to their brand, and they can bring to ours, and that’s where the synergy comes in. It’s really all about experience, whether it’s fun on the radio or fun on the road and we want to link the two elements through a whole load of campaigns.”

Alex Boavida added, “I think this is a great partnership. These individuals are icons. I grew up listening to Jeremy, Sam and John so it’s nice to have this relationship. I think it will be a great collaboration between ourselves, the Mercedes brand and the Sandown Dealership in Sandton.”

Hot 91.9FM Managing Director, Lloyd Madurai, concluded, “We are so pleased to be a part of this great relationship and partnership. We’re also grateful to the Sandown motors team for making this happen and for being a contributor to Hot 91.9FM and Hot Cares for the past 3 years.”

Bianca & Family

Bianca & Family

In our current economic climate, it’s sad to say, but retrenchment is an unfortunate reality that many South African families face.

Bianca, her husband and their son, who currently attends Grade 5 at Jeppe Prep are some such South Africans who’ve experienced this reality first hand.

After being retrenched, Bianca was fortunate to have found another job but at a substantially smaller salary, so the family have had to adjust their monthly budget considerably. Having cashed in her pension to assist with bills and to subsidise her lower salary, Bianca and her family are slowly getting back on her feet but they are still on thin ice, as this is not a sustainable solution to their financial woes.

Her two main concerns were her son’s outstanding school fees (R2 600) and money to pay for a full medical so that she can apply for medical aid (R400).

To get the ball rolling, Hot Cares will settle the outstanding school fees, pay for her medical consultation and give Bianca and her family a grocery voucher for R4 000 and a Dischem voucher for R2 000.

Hot 91.9 FM

Abram Kgari contacted Hot Cares to request assistance for Mamiki Muleya, a 16-year-old disabled girl from Diepsloot.

Mamiki attends Bona Lesedi disability centre and her sole provider is her sister, Lebo Muleya. The family struggles to purchase groceries and nappies each month, so Hot Cares and Sherry Saltzman from the Dischem Foundation jumped at the opportunity to get involved.

The Dischem Foundation will be providing Mamiki with diapers and toiletries to the value of R900 for the next 12 months, and thanks to an anonymous donor- Hot Cares is able to assist Lebo and Mamiki with groceries vouchers valued at R1000 for the next 5 months.

Hot Cares Helps Sam Soja

Hot Cares Helps Sam Soja

A Hot91.9FM listener who travels the backroads in Chartwell has, over the past few months, watched Sam Soja carry little Jean, who is 16 months old, to and from school. Whether its freezing cold in winter, or pouring with rain, Sam makes sure that little Jean attends school without fail. Sam walks approximately 10km to school and then back home again and returns in the afternoon to collect her. Our listener will often give him a lift if he sees them, but as his schedule varies, he’s only able to help on those few occasions and would like to find a way to make it safe and sustainable for Jean and Sam to commute without incident.

To provide a safe and reliable way for Sam and Jean to get to the education Jean needs, and indeed has a right to, Hot Cares has purchased a bicycle with a seat and safety helmets for both travellers.

Sam obviously sees the value of education, as do we here at Hot Cares, and as such, we are happy to pay Jean’s school fees for the next 6 months.
