“The National Community Award is for the outstanding and significant contribution that HOT 91.9FM has done for the community. It has changed so many lives over such a short period,” said Mike Anderson, founder and CEO of the National Small Business Chamber.
“The National Small Business Champion Award, is a unique award, and was awarded to the station as a result of what it has done in terms of helping so many in a big way. Both of these awards are in effect, national community awards,” he continued.
Lloyd believes in passion, perseverance and persistence and adopted these principles from the start. He paid tribute to his team, thanking them for believing in the station from the beginning and initially working for free.
The Awards honoured 20 small businesses across South Africa and highlighted the importance and impact that small businesses have on the South African economy. Individual entrepreneurs who are doing amazing work for their communities in their respective industries we also recognised and thanked.
