Hot 919.FM hosts Annual Hlalisekani Playgroup Christmas Party

Johannesburg, 22 November 2018 – Hot 91.9fm’s Hot Cares hosted their annual Hlalisekani Playgroup Christmas Party at Antonio’s restaurant in Lonehill Johannesburg.

The Hot Cares Team ensured that the 100 kiddies from Hlalisekani enjoyed the pleasures and the spirit of Christmas with loads of treats, chicken nuggets, chips, ice cream and more from Antonio’s Restaurant, a water fountain to duck and dive into, a bicycle track and of course great song and dance.

At the end of the party each child received their own personalised Christmas gift with brand new items of clothing specifically chosen for them and of course many more useful toiletries to take home. A huge thanks to Charlene Naicker and her team at Edge Growth who personally packed each gift with love for the Hot Cares Party.

Involved in all the activities throughout the day were Breakfast show presenters Sam Cowen, John Walland and Simon Hill, the fabulous Bunny Majaja, The Big Joburg Drive team mates Gladys Sithole and Dylan Rogers, and the ever-entertaining Weekend Party Host Shane “The Duke” Wellington.

Managing director Lloyd Madurai said, “We are so delighted to be part of the ongoing upgrades and relationship with the Hlalisekani Playgroup,

Hot Cares together with various partners has been assisting Tami and her team at the Hlalisekani Playgroup in Kya Sands since November 2017 who now look after over 135 children.

The Creche was initially a small open area with no proper shelter for the children, no water or electricity, a few tables and chairs and a very small basic vegetable garden to assist with food for the children. The teachers give of their time and do odd things like recycling or selling vegetables to buy food for themselves and the children.
Through great support from various partners, we are slowly but surely making a meaningful difference in the children’s lives and the teachers lives
